i wrote a novella back in college that i dedicated to two of my best friends as a graduation gift. i found myself re-reading parts of it and i ended up finally drawing the characters i never tried drawing before. so here, from left to right – Ramses: former-bully-now-kitchen-god-and-dad-friend, Hercules: dorky-adorable-nerd, Mel: Herc’s-awesome-cosplaying-girlfriend, Johann: gay-exasparated-responsible-and-tired-student, and Nash: precious-cinnamon-roll-and-the-reason-Johann-ain’t-single-no-more.

I’m gonna write a pretty female-centric novel for this year’s NaNoWriMo. So for this OC-tober, I decided to choose my favorite female OCs from everything I’ve written. Everything. From way back in ye olde days. Even the embarrassing ones. I thought it would be good to have a look back to see how much I’ve changed when writing/designing female characters through the years. So!

• They’re trying to recruit Asa because they need a healer. He’s still training under Wendy, tho.
• Luna, Onyx, Glenn and Ethan are teammates, Peony goes with them sometimes because she thinks they’re smol fragile children.
• She’s very wrong.
• Gertie, Gunnar and Elvin don’t take jobs yet, but they’re already a team.
• Ellie doesn’t have magic but she knows a lot about runes from Freed.
• Most new kids stay at Cana’s for a while until they find a place of their own.
