doodle dump – aro/ace OCs

AAAAAAAA sorry this is late anon, but yes yes of course! I have aro/ace OC’s who I love very much because I can relate to them the most!

I think the first ace OC I introduced in this blog is Ezra for Late Luck!

Ezra is an asexual and nonbinary teen superhero, is super smart and cute and sweet with a heart of gold. He’s got a sweet boyfriend, a best-friend-cousin and a tight-knit hero team! <3 I… never got to finish his story but he features prominently and talked a bit about his asexuality in the original Late Luck short.

For Volunteers, there are four in the team who fall under the aro/ace spectrum:

Luke, the newest member, identifies as heteroromantic asexual. He’s got a crush on lead girl Zoe. <3 His past experiences being experimented on has made him touch averse though, but he’s slowly growing more comfortable in his skin and in others’ presence with the help of his new family.

Current team leader Ross can conjure shields as his gift. He’s in a relationship with his childhood friend and previous leader, Iago, who had stepped back for a bit due to injury. It took them quite long to see each other in a romantic light since they always thought they were ill-fit for that kind of relationship. Ross is demiromantic ace, soft-spoken and shy, while Iago identifies as bi and had been quick to engage with others. But they made it work eventually, since they’ve been together so long that no one really understood each other like they did. (IT’S REALLY SWEET I SHOULD WRITE IT WHY IS IT JUST IN MY HEAD)

Dana, the team’s resident empath, is aro and ace. His powers had been a big part of him learning and accepting that he was aro/ace. He could feel romantic and sexual attraction through others, but he never really felt it by himself. He struggled to understand it at first, and thought of it as a weakness – an empath who couldn’t even feel love? But eventually he grew to learn that there were other forms of affection, that were no less important than romantic/sexual ones. Currently, he uses his powers to mentor younger kids as they learn how to use their own gifts. His calming powers come in handy when young kids can’t focus or panic in the verge of losing control.

Lastly, Clari, who has super-sight, is aro and ace as well! She’s Team Mom, and is in a queerplatonic relationship with Soren, who is basically Team Dad. They’re each other’s best friends and are in a platonic life partners kinda deal. They’re one of my fave relationships tbh… I wrote their story here: A Soft Place to Land.

And for The Road Home, lemme present these two married fools:

Brant and Aoife are both aro and ace. They grew up on the same small town, Brant an heir to an established weaponry forge and Aoife basically the town princess… which put them both in a similar position of having lots of admirers and suitors… which they didn’t really like. At first they just knew each other through a mutual friend: Enda. Down the line, with Enda settled out of town with her new family, these two grew closer, formed a legitimate friendship and one day came up with the brilliant idea to marry each other to get their parents and the whole town off their backs.

It worked. Plus the family business thrived because Aoife was a force of nature if someone only lets her run things.

Also they have a baby girl named Niamh and holy shit they’re really good at this parenting thing.

…and that is all of them! Thank you for the question, anon! I really love these kids! <3
