i drew the pink girl earlier this month and realized i should draw her other friends too. now i love them and want to name them!

messin’ around with the pen tool and came up with a super cute shai, and then i had to draw the rest of the gang. i always wanted to draw TRH in this style!

from left to right:

helen – best girl, book blogger, aspiring writer and the sensible friend,
aiden – literally raised in a barn, giant teddy bear and the middle of the jock-nerd spectrum,
page – friendly neighborhood overachiever making his two moms proud, and-
shai – the art kid hanging out in the library because it’s quiet and also they like watching their boyfriend at work.

today my fb memories showed me this sketch i made 5 years ago, and i decided it’s time to see how my art style has grown!

so here’s prince – it’s not short for princess, really just prince – an OC of mine from an old novel i have long since abandoned. to this day i still love her design!

garrett: “hey, i heard that! just because i’m not the future CEO of my dad’s company doesn’t mean i can’t provide your brother with a comfortable life- what’s important is that we love each other-”
ardeth: “do you hear him, nyle? love? ew. no. no, i am not going to let you marry this man. next thing i now he’s making you live his bohemian life and then you’re homeless-”
nyle: “…ardeth. ardeth he just asked me out for coffee.”
ardeth: “you’re just a child-”
nyle: “oh my god i’m TWENTY.”

(they do manage to go out for coffee and they start dating and eventually garrett is like “i’m in love with u can i call u baby” and nyle just laughs like “no, that’s weird. ardeth calls me baby.” and garrett is horrified “nyle i don’t think u realize that ardeth calling u baby… is weirder than me calling u baby… ok how about ummm darling?” and nyle laughs again “ardeth calls me that too, also sweetheart and honey and cupcake haha” and garrett is DONE like “does he know… that he is ur brother… and not ur boyfriend…”)

(edlin decides to go to college in scotland or london or somewhere else, she’s not sticking around for this mess, twin brother or not.)

pop sweetheart kazu treats fans to intimate acoustic session on latest tour stop with partner songwriter jiro

several celebrity news sites have published speculations about a split between the 22 year old pop star and her long-time composer-songwriter when several sources claimed seeing the two having a heated argument that ended on both parties walking away. the rumors only grew when kazu went on tour for the first time without her frequent companion.

“yeah, maybe we have a fight or two sometimes. who doesn’t?” kazu said. “he’s my best friend and we’ve been together for as long as we can remember. it’ll take more than baseless internet gossip and some scheduling conflicts to break us up.”
it seems that whatever disagreement was had is now forgiven. on the latest stop of her tour, the concert was stopped due to technical problems. the delay lasted for half an hour, until kazu came out accompanied by jiro, with nothing more than a single microphone and an acoustic guitar.

“there were hundreds of people in the arena, and all of us went dead silent for those few songs.” a member of the audience said. “kazu haven’t fully changed into her next costume yet… and jiro, well, he never really performs on shows, you know? they sang together, and they shared the mic, and it just felt really intimate.”

the two performed acoustic renditions of some of their first collaborations until the tech crew fixed the problem and the show could go on as originally planned.

so uhhh i was listening to bleachers’ mtv unplugged session, and lorde was featured there in one of my favorite songs, and then i remembered that one time she sang an acoustic version of hard feelings and new york with jack antonoff, in the middle of her concert with the two of them just sitting on the stage. and i’ve always thought that’s something kazu and jiro would do, so… here we are, i guess.
